I thought about this considering the Pistons are playing their 4th game in 5 nights tonight.
Pistons play 22 back2back sets this season, and they usually play 21-23 every season, as does the average Eastern conference team.
But Miami this year plays only FIFTEEN!!! You could argue about the location and travel time, but Denver arguably has the farthest to travel to any other city, and Denver has 23 Back2backs.
But wait.. there is more

Bo Schembechler, historical long time football coach at University of Michigan died today. November 17, 2006.
One day before #1 Ohio State welcomes #2 Michigan to Columbus. Some people have said that this was going to be the biggest game in the 102 year rivalry. Some say that the rivalry truly started in 1969, with Woody and Bo.
As a sports fan, and a fan of Bo, I'm stunned, just like everyone else.
My memories of Bo take me back. He was one of the toughest SOB's in the game of football. When I think of Bo Schembechler, I think of 1989. I think of the Rose Bowl. I think of Bo vs. Woody Hayes. I think of

The deal can be summed up in one word.
Bad.
Of course, there are other words in the dictionary which might also be appropriate; abominable, atrocious, awful, beastly, crappy, dreadful, erroneous, garbage, god-awful, lousy, poor, sleazy, slipshod, stinking, unacceptable, and unsatisfactory. I suppose since its Sheffield were talking about sleazy would probably be my second choice.
But adjective numero uno is Bad; Malo; Mauvais; Schlecht; Difettoso. Pick your language, it all means the same; sucks; and none of it makes any sense.
Oh I know Gary Sheffield has had a wonderful career. A lifetime .297 hi

Its funny how sometimes you learn things.. sometimes you get a source, other times you pick up on a rumor.
Sometimes you just happen to be eating Sunday Morning breakfast and overhear a conversation...
I'll let you all decide how this one went... but its with great confidence that I say a very prominent MSU Board Member is pushing for Charlie Baggett to be the next MSU head coach.
I kid you not.. this is a trustee with a long history of complicating MSU athle

If we were talking clandesitine governmental activities instead of Michigan State-Notre Dame football, we'd be talking about "plausible deniability." It's the truth just minus those messy "whole truth and nothing but the truth so help me God" parts. It's like the college coach being courted by an NFL team. The team says, "If we were to offer you the job, how much money would you want?" And the coach says, "Well, if you were to offer the job, I'd want $5 million." And the team says, "Well if we e

Lloydball plus Risks
I’ve often use the term “Lloydball” in my posts here but I have rarely, if ever, used that term in a positive light. The truth is that Lloydball is not a good thing in its most rudimentary form. Just about every loss Michigan has suffered in the post National Championship era has been a result of the imperfections of Lloydball. Whether it’s sitting on leads or being afraid to make mistakes, Michigan has let many games slip away due to a lack of innovation. There a

Normally, I can at least tolerate WXYT's Sports Inferno, and sometimes enjoy it, mostly due to one of the few islands of sanity in the overheated sports talk wars, Terry Foster. But this morning, the Sports Bic Lighter just doesn't get it. In this case, what they don't get is Tony Kornheiser.
I caught a little of the MNF game after the Tiger tilt. Despite the Worldwide Leader making their MNF debut out to be the next coming of the most entertaining booth in history, I'm not going to w

I can remember the moment it began, albeit barely. And since the moment involved the Lions, it’s no wonder that my indoctrination into Detroit sports began with not just losing, but with fantastic losing.
November 8, 1970. The Lions were playing the New Orleans Saints down in the bayou. And they would have won, i

It's been the topic du jour on Detroit sports talk radio this week. Even ESPN gave it plenty of play on SportsCenter. Roy Williams has guaranteed a Lions victory over the Chicago Bears this Sunday, which makes me think that, well, maybe Roy's been smoking a bit of what Charles Rogers is often thought of enjoying during his
